Mulmul is an exceptionally fine, breathable cotton traditionally used in South Asia. It is lightweight, soft against the skin, and naturally regulates temperature—cooling in summer, gently insulating in winter.

Mulmul improves with wear and washing, becoming softer and more luxurious over time. It is a material meant to be lived with.

We source 100% Nepalese cashmere selected for its exceptional hand and enduring softness. Our cashmere is woven and dyed in colours developed exclusively for Maison Guras, produced in limited quantity.

Each piece is designed to warm without weight and to soften without excess—a long companion through seasons and years.

Yes. All dyed products use Azo-free dyes, which are free from harmful chemicals and safe for skin contact. We also conduct in-house colour fastness and dye transfer testing before production to ensure the highest standards.

A khasto, traditionally known as a dauhar, is a lightweight, three-layer mulmul cloth used for wrapping, swaddling, and comfort. It is printed in ancestral Nepalese motifs and serves as an everyday companion—meant to wrap, rest, and return to, again and again.

Both adults and babies can use khastos. They adapt to your needs across all seasons.

Handmade variations are not imperfections—they are proof of authenticity. Each stitch, each hand-printed detail, reflects the rhythm of human hands and the richness of traditional craftsmanship.

These variations make each piece truly one of a kind. They are the signature of living craft.

Each product category includes a detailed size chart. For khastos, we provide length and width measurements. For bhoto sets, we offer sizing for babies and children up to five years.

If you're between sizes or unsure, we recommend sizing up. Maison Guras pieces are designed for ease and comfort, not restriction.

Yes. If your piece doesn't fit as expected, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We can arrange an exchange for a different size at no additional cost (shipping may apply depending on your location).

Handmade pieces may vary slightly in proportions due to the nature of artisanal production. This is normal and part of the handmade process.

For Mulmul Cotton:

• Hand wash in cool water with mild soap
• Gentle squeezing (avoid wringing)
• Rinse thoroughly
• Lay flat to dry or hang gently
• Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods
• Iron on low heat if desired (optional—mulmul naturally softens)

For Cashmere:

• Hand wash in cool water with cashmere-specific soap
• Gentle squeezing only
• Rinse thoroughly
• Lay flat to dry on a clean towel
• Do not hang; this can stretch the fabric
• Store folded in a cool, dry place

Care instructions are included with every piece.

We recommend hand washing for best results and longevity. Machine washing can reduce the lifespan of handmade pieces and may affect colours and texture.

Hand washing takes only minutes and honors the craftsmanship that went into making your piece.

Mulmul and cashmere may slightly shrink with the first wash (up to 2-3%). This is normal for natural fibres. Wash in cool water and lay flat to dry to minimize shrinkage.

Treat stains gently:

• Blot (never rub) with cool water
• Use mild soap on the affected area
• Rinse thoroughly
• Lay flat to dry

For stubborn stains, contact us for advice before washing. Some stains respond better to specific treatment methods.

• Store folded in a cool, dry place
• Avoid direct sunlight and damp areas
• For cashmere, place in a breathable bag or drawer
• Avoid plastic bags, which can trap moisture
• Mulmul can be rolled or folded; both are fine

We ship within India. Standard delivery typically takes 7-10 business days depending on your location. We will provide tracking information once your order ships.

We stand behind the quality of our pieces. If you receive an item with a defect, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will arrange a replacement at no cost.

We package carefully, but sometimes damage occurs in transit. If your piece arrives damaged:

3. We will send a replacement immediately
